Shibuya Crossing New Years Eve Countdown 2020 at Tokyo’s Famous Intersection

Let’s celebrate coming New Year, 2020 together at the Japan’s famous intersection, Shibuya Scramble Crossing!

The area around Shibuya Station will be car-free for the Tokyo New Year countdown.

About 120,000 came down to this massive event last year.

Shibuya Crossing Countdown Event Schedule

Countdown celebration event will be held between 10:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 1:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day, 2020.

Drinking alcohol is not permitted on the streets in the event area.

Shibuya Crossing Countdown Event Venue

Shibuya Scrumble Crossing area in front of Shibuya Station;

Dogenzaka Street, Bunkamura-dori street, Inokashira-dori Street, Koen-dori Street.

A traffic -free zone will be set between 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 2 a.m. on New Year’s Day. The area colored in red is traffic-free zone.

 

Station Exits to be Closed for Countdown

Tokyu Corporation says it closes some Tokyo Metro station exits as follows;

Between 10:30 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and 1:00 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

To be closed at Exit A０、Exit A1、Exit A2、Exit A3、Exit A4、Exit A5、Exit A6、Exit A7、Exit A8、Exit A12、Exit B7
